DraftKings NBA Picks for December 6

We have six games tonight, but there aren’t a lot of high priced options on the board. The Spurs are also in the second night of a back to back set. Will we have bargains from Pop sitting players again? Don’t forget to follow @fantasycpr on Twitter for lineup updates as we get them leading to the tipoffs of the games! I am not always able to get back in here and fix my picks when someone sits for the night, but we will update it on Twitter.

More from DFS

I am going to change one little thing. I usually create two DraftKings lineups, so I am going to start posting the both of them since the one I post usually winds up being the lower scoring of the two.

Point Guards

Best Bets:

John Wall ($8,700): Most of the point guards tonight are saddled with bad matchups. Statistically, Wall has the worst in Orlando, but can we really ignore what Wall has done over the last four games? He has had 48 or more DraftKings points in each of those contests. On top of that, Wall put up 55.75 DraftKings points on the Magic in their first meeting. He still looks like a strong play to me.

Goran Dragic ($7,300): On a night where elite options are lacking, Dragic looks like a nice pick. He has picked up a lot of slack with all of the backcourt injuries for the Heat. Dragic has more than 40 DraftKings points in three of the last four games. The Heat still look like a M*A*S*H* unit tonight, so Dragic is a solid play. Or Tyler Johnson if you need to go cheaper.

Honorable Mention:

Andrew Harrison ($5,300): Harrison’s price is inflating to the point where he may not be an automatic play anymore. After all, he was backing up Mike Conley for a reason. Harrison has still averaged 27.1 DraftKings points per game since Conley went out. That is good for over 5x value. He also has a great matchup against the Sixers tonight.

Reggie Jackson ($5,600): Jackson looked solid in his debut on Sunday, picking up 24.75 DraftKings points in 23 minutes. His minutes will increase slowly, but he is still priced low enough that reaching 5x value for him wont be hard even if he only plays 25 minutes.

Dark Horses:

Sergio Rodriguez ($5,000): Rodriguez has racked up 87.25 DraftKings points in his last two games. Now he gets a Memphis team that is without Mike Conley. Jerryd Bayless is still doubtful at best, so Sergio should see upwards of 30 minutes again. He should be a nice bargain again tonight.

Ricky Rubio ($4,700): Rubio still throws up enough bricks to build the Flatiron Building, but his steals, assists, and even his rebounds make him a valuable fantasy commodity. Especially at this price. The Spurs are the worst in the league defending the point. Maybe even Rubio can score on these guys tonight.

Shelvin Mack ($3,800): Mack has been a strong play with George Hill out. Hill hasn’t been ruled out for tonight’s game yet, but it seems unlikely that he will be able to play in this one as well. Mack has averaged 23 DraftKings points per game with Hill out. That leaves him at 7.5x value!

My pick: Harrison(PG), Mack(G); Wall(PG), Tyler Johnson(G)

DraftKings

Shooting Guards

Best Bets:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($5,700): KCP went cold against the Magic on Sunday, but he still managed to hit  5x value because of his rebounding ability. Caldwell-Pope is quickly becoming a must-play option because his price has stayed low. We do need to keep on eye on how Reggie Jackson’s return affects his value, either positively or negatively. He did take a few less shots than usual on Sunday, but it may have just been because of his poor shooting.

Zach LaVine ($5,700): LaVine has played over 40 minutes in each of the last four games. He has averaged 34 DraftKings points per game over that span. The Spurs don’t defend guards well anyway, and when you consider Pop’s propensity for resting veterans on back to backs, LaVine could see more open shots than usual.

Honorable Mention:

Dwyane Wade ($6,200): Wade has been fantastic lately, with seven straight games of 32 or more DraftKings points. The Bulls have already said that they don’t plan on resting him on the second night of a back to back. Maybe it’s because he shot better than 50% from the floor last night and racked up a season best 34 points. That said, He could see a lighter share of minutes if he goes cold or the game doesn’t stay close.

Rodney Hood ($5,300): Hood has topped 5x value in each of his last four games. Tonight he gets the Suns, who have been a boon to almost any player’s fantasy value. Expect Hood to reach 5x value again with relative ease.

Dark Horses:

Wayne Ellington ($4,200): Ellington has been seeing a good run lately with all of the injuries, and even though he isn’t a top option like Dragic or Johnson, he still is getting you good value. I wouldn’t expect him to go off against the Knicks, but 5x value is still likely since he is so cheap.

Gerald Henderson ($3,500): Nik Stauskas is still seeing more minutes, but Henderson has played well enough to carve out a role for this team. Henderson has hit 48.5 DraftKings points over the last two games. That makes him an intriguing option at this price.

My pick: Caldwell-Pope(SG); LaVine(SG)

DraftKings
Dec 1, 2016; Salt Lake City, UT, USA; Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward (20) dribbles up the court during the second half against the Miami Heat at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Miami won 111-110. Mandatory Credit: Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports /

Small Forwards

Best Bets:

Jimmy Butler ($8,900): Butler has topped 45 DraftKings points in each of his last three games after a bit of a cold spell at the end of November. Wade may has overshadowed him last night, but that wont be the norm. Butler is still the heart of this offense, and even though the matchup with Detroit wont be easy, Butler still has a good shot at 5x value and is one of the few at any position that could drop 50 DraftKings points.

Gordon Hayward ($8,200): Hayward has not been under 5x value since November 19th. He also has a great matchup tonight with the Suns. If you fade Butler for Hayward, you wont be as alone as you may think. Hayward has hit 40 or more DraftKings points in four straight games now.

Honorable Mention:

Kawhi Leonard ($7,800): Are you a fan of consistency? Kawhi has three straight games at 36.75 DraftKings points. That’s right. Three straight games at the same amount of points. The bad news is that it’s a shade below 5x value, and it wont get any easier tonight against Minnesota.

Otto Porter ($6,600): Porter has become quit a stat sheet stuffer lately. He has hit more than half of his shots since Thanksgiving, and also has 15 steals in that span. He hasn’t had less than seven rebounds since November 12th. He is the model of efficiency right now, and it nearly a lock for 5x value whenever he steps on the court.

Dark Horses:

Marcus Morris ($5,100): There was some concern that Morris would lose some value with the return of Reggie Jackson, but in Jackson’s first game back Morris actually got better shots. He is a bit of a risk against the Bulls, but Morris’s outside shooting presence can create a matchup problem. He should still hit 5x value.

P.J. Tucker ($4,200): It looks as though T.J. Warren will be out again, which makes Tucker a nice punt play once again Tucker has averaged 31 DraftKings points over his last three games, and is a strong bet to be right around that mark, or 7x value, once again.

My pick: Hayward(SF); Porter(SF)

DraftKings
Nov 25, 2016; Orlando, FL, USA; Orlando Magic forward Serge Ibaka (7) looks to pass as Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris (5) defends during the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Washington Wizards at Amway Center. The Wizards won 94-91. Mandatory Credit: Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports /

Power Forwards

Best Bets:

LaMarcus Aldridge ($6,300): Aldridge turned in one of his best fantasy games of the year last night against the Bucks. While the Spurs will likely rest some players, Aldridge has only played more than 34 minutes once in his last six games. It should be all systems go for Aldridge tonight.

Serge Ibaka ($6,300): Ibaka has found his groove in Orlando finally. He has averaged 35 DraftKings points per game over his last seven games. Of particular significance was his dominant performance against a solid Pistons front on Sunday. While he may not hit 50 again tonight against Washington, expect the Magic to get him involved early an often after Sunday’s performance.

Honorable Mention:

JaMychal Green ($5,700): Green has averaged 32.25 DraftKings points per game in the absence of Zach Randolph. He will continue to play as many minutes as he can handle provided he stays out of foul trouble. Expect Green to be well above 5x value again tonight against the Sixers.

Dark Horses:

Jon Leuer ($4,500): Leuer doesn’t have the high upside of a lot of the cheaper players, but he also provides much more consistent production. He has averaged 25.5 DraftKings points over the last four games, all of which have been against decent interior teams. Expect to see Leuer in the low 20’s once again.

Richaun Holmes ($3,600): Joel Embiid will sit in the second night of the back to back, and Jahlil Okafor has already been ruled out with his illness. That leaves Holmes as one of the few healthy bodies up front for the Sixers. Memphis is fairly strong up front, but the sheer volume of minutes that Holmes will play makes him a strong bet to get at least 6x value.

My pick: Green(PF), Holmes(F); Leuer(PF), Holmes(F)

DraftKings
Dec 2, 2016; New York, NY, USA; Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns (32) warms up before a game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Mandatory Credit: Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports /

Center

Best Bets:

Hassan Whiteside ($9,600): The Knicks are the worst in the league at allowing fantasy points to centers, and Whiteside is one of the better centers in the league. His price spiked for this one, but with good reason. Utah is the only team in the last four games to keep Whiteside under 52 DraftKings points. I highly doubt the Knicks will be able to either.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,100): Surprisingly, the Spurs are not good defensively on the interior despite the addition of Pau Gasol. Teams have abused them inside, especially centers. Whiteside will carry the burden of the Miami offense, but Towns wont have that pressure on him. He has plenty of help, but I do expect him to have a huge night inside against the Spurs. 6x value is well within reach.

Honorable Mention:

Andre Drummond ($7,500): Aside from his ejection against the Hornets, Drummond has surpassed 5x value in seven of his last eight games. Many DFS players are going to be on Whiteside or Towns tonight. Drummond could be a really good alternative while scoring nearly as many points as the top two.

Marc Gasol ($7,400): Gasol put up a triple-double last night against the Pelicans. While I wouldn’t expect that kind of outburst again, Gasol could still have well above 5x value, and he likely will. All of the injures to the team have forced Gasol to take on a larger role. That has been a good thing for Memphis.

Dark Horses:

Nikola Vucevic ($6,100): Vucevic has been much more consistent off the bench, but that also limits his upside. If you are looking for a solid 5 to 5.5x value, Vucevic will give you that. He has averaged 37 DraftKings points per game in two games against Washington so far this year.

Cole Aldrich ($3,900): Aldrich posted a double-double on Friday against the Knicks with Gorgui Dieng in foul trouble. That performance afforded him another 20 minutes against Charlotte on Saturday, and another solid performance. His playing time could still be volatile, but with Dieng struggling at times, is has opened the door for Aldrich. The Timberwolves could abuse the Spurs on the inside. Aldrich could play a fairly large role in that.

My pick: Whiteside(C), Towns(UTIL); Towns(C), Gasol(UTIL)
