Not much has gone right for the Cleveland Browns this year, but they look to end the season on a high note and it looks like they’ll have quarterback Robert Griffin III to help in that regard.

The Cleveland Browns are still in search of their first win this season, which is never a good thing when you’re in the second week of December. However, the Browns got some news that may be perceived as good on Wednesday, with the likely return of quarterback Robert Griffin III to the starting lineup.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports barring an unforeseen health setback in practice that Griffin III will return to the starting lineup on Sunday. The team’s big free agent addition this offseason has missed the last 11 games after injuring his non-throwing shoulder in a sideline collision in the season opener.

It was an ominous start for RGIII who left the Washington Redskins as a free agent after losing his job to Kirk Cousins. The team put him on injured reserve with the designated to return distinction so they could bring him back later in the year.

Unfortunately, Cleveland doesn’t have much to play for at this point in the year. Depending on how you view this health update, this could be good news for the Browns to secure the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft after potentially going defeated for the whole year.

However, don’t expect to find a savior at the top of next year’s draft because there is no clear-cut franchise quarterback waiting to be taken with the top pick. Unlike the Detroit Lions who took Matthew Stafford with the top pick after they went winless, the Browns may have to stomach another season with RGIII, so if nothing else, they can get a look at how he finishes the season to decide if they want to pursue extending their relationship.
