2. Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans rolled the dice a few drafts back selecting Marcus Mariota, who many believed would never become a good NFL quarterback due to the offense he ran at Oregon. Well, Mariota has proven everybody wrong and has established himself as one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. The Titans now have the franchise quarterback they have missed since Steve McNair, and they should be a contending team for the next few years.
Mariota is very good, and he is putting up numbers this season despite not having a top option at the wide receiver position. While guys like Tajae Sharpe and Rishard Matthews are nice supplementary players, they are not the kind of receiver that is going to turn a game on its head. This team needs a legitimate WR1, and they could find it next April if they take Dede Westbrook with one of their draft picks.
Now, Tennessee is in a nice spot, due to the fact that they have two first round draft picks in April. They traded away the No. 1 overall pick to the Los Angeles Rams this past offseason, which the Rams used to grab Jared Goff from Cal. Tennessee is likely to ramp up their defensive unit with their two first round picks in 2017, so expect them to try to grab a quality offensive weapon in the second round, where Westbrook may be waiting.
The Titans have a window here where they can really improve their roster and be good for a long time. They play in a division that is currently being led by a team with a 6-6 record, which means the Titans could be a favorite to win the division as early as next year. Tennessee needs to have a good draft in April, and a guy like Westbrook is about as safe a pick as you are going to get at his position, outside of guys like Mike Williams and John Ross.
