We knew Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, was showing off Super Mario Run details on Jimmy Fallon. But there was much more in store.

Leading up to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, we knew Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, was making an appearance. We also knew that Super Mario Run was going to be the main focus of his visit.

As soon as he was brought out, we saw some brand new gameplay for Super Mario Run, the upcoming mobile game. We saw more of what we already knew, and the game looks like an absolute blast.

But we also got some brand new details. It turns out that Mario won’t be the only playable character. We’ll also get to play as Luigi, Yoshi and Toad. It definitely adds some variety to the game.

For a small price of $10, it can be yours next week on Thursday, Dec. 15, on iOS. However, not only was Reggie there, but so was visionary video game designer and creator, Shigeru Miyamoto. As soon as we found out that he was going to appear on the show, we knew that something else had to be in store.

Sure enough, we were right. Right after the brief demo of Super Mario Run, Reggie surprised us with the Nintendo Switch. This is the first time we’ve seen a live demo of the Switch.

The console was revealed in October with a video, but we have yet to see it in action. Fallon was able to get his hands on the Switch and he seemed extremely excited. By far, the best of all was the game he was playing.

It was none other than The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. After a brand new trailer at The Game Awards last week, we got even more gameplay footage tonight. It wasn’t much, but any new look we get at the upcoming game is exciting.

One of the best parts of Nintendo’s visit was Miyamoto jamming out to the Super Mario Bros. theme with The Roots. Check it out below:

Next: Big Pokemon GO announcement coming December 12

The Switch is set to launch in March and hopefully, Breath of the Wild launches alongside it.
