Here’s how you can watch Saturday afternoon’s Cleveland State vs Purdue live stream from West Lafayette online.
Purdue has gotten off to a strong start to the 2016-17 season with its only losses coming against No. 3 Villanova and No. 14 Louisville. Those are games the Boilermakers will need to win in March, but right now it’s just good for experience.
The Boilermakers rank 18th in the country and will be taking on a sub-.500 Cleveland State team on Saturday in West Lafayette. This is another good opportunity to pad the win column before Big Ten play begins later this month.
Caleb Swanigan has been the team’s top player this season after losing some guys to graduation, namely AJ Hammons, from last year. He’s averaging a team-high 16.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per game while shooting 58 percent from the field.
Cleveland State hasn’t had the best start to the season, however. The Vikings are just 3-5 and have already played a tough opponent in Kentucky on the road, losing by 31. This team is one a two-game win streak, though, and might bring some added confidence into West Lafayette.
If the Vikings are going to have any shot of taking down the Boilermakers, the long-range shooting must be better than what it has been. They haven’t had a lights-out three-point threat since Bryn Forbes who transferred to Michigan State three years ago.
The Vikings are shooting just 30 percent from long-range, but leading scorer Rob Edwards might be the scoring threat this team needs to shock the world. He is averaging 16 points per game and he makes 36 percent of his threes.
