President-Elect Donald Trump joined the CBS booth and commented on the quality of football between Army and Navy on Saturday.

There are very few traditions in college football that stand the test of time quite like the annual game between Army and Navy. These two teams battle on the football field every year and it’s always one of the most hyped up sports events each year. President-Elect Donald Trump was in attendance in Baltimore on Saturday, and he even joined Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson in the booth.

Trump joined the booth and tried his hand at a little play-by-play. Danielson and the president-elect joked about Trump’s friends and they even proposed making Lundquist the ambassador to Sweden. While they were on the air, Trump and the guys talked about the action down on the field and it appeared that he wasn’t quite feeling the quality of the game.

He mentioned the terrific atmosphere and what an honor it was to be at the game, but he wasn’t so sure that it was the best quality of football being played. To be fair, while this is a great tradition and a great game every year, these teams are in a bit of a transition and aren’t at their best.

It’s not exactly Alabama and Auburn but it’s still a good game played by those helping serve our country. After losing a player like Keenan Reynolds to the draft, there’s going to be a transition period involved for the Midshipmen, as they try to pick up where he left off.

The good news is that the two teams really got it going early in the second half. Trump even got to narrate an Army fumble on the field. When he was finished, he shook hands with the two broadcasters and went his way and thanked them for having him.
