Creighton might be one of the most talked about wild cards in the country this season. As no one ahead of the Bluejays lost last week, they’ll stay at No. 10, but what kind of team is this? They’ve beaten four major conference teams this season, including a top-10 Wisconsin team, and we will finally find out if they’re contenders or pretenders on Dec. 31 against Villanova.

Indiana could be a top-five team in college basketball right now if it didn’t lose to IPFW a few weeks ago. The Hoosiers have proven since then that it was just a fluke, beating No. 3 North Carolina by nine at home and then everyone else by at least 20 points. The Hoosiers are a talented team with athletes littered across the roster, but will they be able to keep this up in Big Ten play?

As mentioned earlier with the St. Mary’s spot in the rankings, the WAC will likely be Gonzaga’s to lose this season since the Bulldogs are the only team with an undefeated record and they have one of the best resumes in the country. In fact, they added wins over Washington and Akron to victories over Arizona, Florida, Iowa State and San Diego State. Can anyone beat this team or will we have an undated season on our hands?

North Carolina is one of the most talented teams in the country, but the Tar Heels had a heck of a time trying to put Tennessee away for good on Sunday evening. Although the Volunteers aren’t  exactly an elite team this season, they are no easy task to defeat. Coming to Chapel Hill and escaping with a win would have shaken up the rankings, but the Volunteers fell just two points short.

Kentucky didn’t hold the No. 1 ranking in the country for too long as UCLA came to town in Week 4 and stole a victory. However, the Wildcats will likely make the climb back up the polls to at least the top three if they can win their next two games against No. 7 North Carolina and No. 11 Louisville. The upcoming schedule will tell us a lot about this team.
