DraftKings NBA Picks for December 11

There are only five games tonight, but they are plenty of stars to litter our DraftKings lineups with. Which ones should we be targeting? Where are the bargains at? Let’s take a look!

Don’t forget to follow @fantasycpr on Twitter for lineup updates as we get them leading to the tipoffs of the games! I am not always able to get back in here and fix my picks when someone sits for the night, but we will update it on Twitter.

More from DFS

I am going to change one little thing. I usually create two DraftKings lineups, so I am going to start posting the both of them since the one I post usually winds up being the lower scoring of the two.

If you want a second opinion, head on over to Fantasypros. They will use their algorithm to help you find the best bang for the buck. They can also be customized to do the turbo and late tournaments, and they will also build around your favorite stack!

Point Guards

Best Bets:

Russell Westbrook ($12,400): Another game, another triple-double for Westbrook. Just the fact that is has become commonplace now is ludicrous in its own right. Westbrook has 12 triple-doubles in his last 13 games. If you really need a different reason to use him, I can’t help you.

Stephen Curry ($8,400): How does a team that has a player like Ricky Rubio, who is hailed for his defense, give up the most fantasy points to opposing point guards? It is one of the NBA’s great mysteries, but it could also keep Curry’s ownership down. Curry’s price is finally down to the point where 5x value is regularly attainable. He is a solid fade option to Westbrook because of the price discrepancy.

Honorable Mention:

Derrick Rose ($6,100): Rose had hit 5x value in the two games prior to leaving with back spasms last Tuesday. The Lakers are in the middle of the pack in point guard defense. Rose practiced in full yesterday, which would see to mean that he will start tonight. However, if Rose sits, I am all over Brandon Jennings again.

Tim Frazier ($5,700): All signs point to Jrue Holiday being out again, but make sure to check before tipoff to make sure. You have to love this matchup for Frazier. Frazier has put up 91.5 DraftKings points in the last three games with Holiday out. The Suns are in the bottom five in point guard defense. You see where this is going.

Dark Horses:

Terry Rozier ($4,100): Rozier has racked up 67.25 DraftKings points in the last three games with Isaiah Thomas out. Thomas is sitting again, so expect Rozier to be in the 20’s again, making him a solid 5x value pick with the potential for more.

Ish Smith ($3,900): Yes, I realize that Reggie Jackson is back in his starting role. I also realize that Jackson is on an innings limit, and he has not surpassed 25 DraftKings points in any of his games back. Add that to the fact that this game with Philadelphia likely wont be all that close, and I see them keeping Jackson to around 22-25 minutes. Which means Smith gets at least half the time. Against the third worst defense against point guards, Smith has a far better chance at reaching value than Jackson does.

My pick: Westbrook(PG), Frazier(G)

DraftKings
Sep 26, 2016; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Los Angeles Lakers guard Lou Williams (23) poses at media day at Toyota Sports Center.. Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Shooting Guards

Best Bets:

Lou Williams ($7,100): There is an outside shot that D’Angelo Russell makes his return tonight. If he does, don’t touch Williams. However, if Russell is still out, play him! Even against a Knicks team that has been solid on the perimeter. LouWill has topped 48 DraftKings points in three of his last four games. That is a HUGE bargain.

Avery Bradley ($6,400): Bradley is solid across the board. He has been at or above 5x value in four of his last five games. He still isn’t much of a passer, but his rebounding ability keeps him at value in nearly every game.

Honorable Mention:

Zach LaVine ($6,000): The Warriors are the second worst team in points allowed to shooting guards. LaVine has hit at least 5x value in six of his last eight games. One of those games was against this same Warriors team where he turned in 41.75 DraftKings points. He should be up around that total again, which is flirting with 7x value.

Marcus Smart ($5,600): Smart should enjoy at least one more game in the starting lineup with Thomas out again. Smart has been right at 25 DraftKings points in all three games starting for Thomas. That is just a shade below 5x value, but he did play 36 minutes against Toronto. If he plays that against the Thunder, he should be be closer to 6x value than 5x.

Dark Horses:

Courtney Lee ($3,800): Lee picked up some slack with Rose out, but he is still mostly an afterthought on offense. However, the Lakers are in the bottom ten in defense against off guards. 5x value shouldn’t be a problem, even if Rose plays.

Buddy Hield ($3,500): Injuries have struck the Pelicans backcourt again, but this time Hield has gotten many more shots to fall. Hield racked up 27.25 DraftKings points last night against a pretty good Clippers team. He could have another really good game against Phoenix.

My pick: LaVine(SG)

DraftKings
Dec 8, 2016; Salt Lake City, UT, USA; Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant (35) drives to the basket during the first quarter against the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena. Mandatory Credit: Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

Small Forwards

Best Bets:

Kevin Durant ($9,300): The Jazz were in the top five in defense against small forwards. Durant put up 47.25 DraftKings points on them. The Timberwolves are also in the top five, but Durant does so many other things well that he doesn’t rely on scoring as much as he once did. He put up 61.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Minnesota.

Tobias Harris ($5,800): Harris struggled against Minnesota, but that should come as no surprise. Harris still struggles with tough matchups. If you look at the games against Charlotte and Chicago before that, Harris had 65.5 DraftKings points in those two games. On paper, the 76ers are worse than both of them, so Harris could be in for a nice rebound game.

Honorable Mention:

Andrew Wiggins ($6,000): On paper, this is a fantastic matchup for Wiggins. The Warriors are third worst in the league against small forwards. So why am I apprehensive? Wiggins only scored 25.25 DraftKings points in their first meeting. Yes, he torched my lineup that time. I don’t know if I can bring myself to use him.

Marcus Morris ($5,000): Morris still gets plenty of run even with Harris around. He will have plenty of chances to exploit that suspect 76ers defense as well. He also needs three less points to hit 5x value. That isn’t a huge margin, but I would expect him closer to 6x value than 5x anyway.

Dark Horses:

P.J. Tucker ($3,800): Tucker has been mostly a disaster over the last three games despite playing big minutes, but I like him to get back on track against New Orleans. Solomon Hill doesn’t scare me at all. Tucker should get back on track here.

Solomon Hill ($3,600): Hill has three straight games over 5x value, and seems to be finding a niche with Dante Cunningham out. He is the more reliable alternative to Tucker, but Tucker has more upside.

My Pick: Hill(SF)

DraftKings
Dec 2, 2016; New Orleans, LA, USA; New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis (23) tips the ball in as LA Clippers center DeAndre Jordan (6) defends during the first quarter at the Smoothie King Center. Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forwards

Best Bets:

Anthony Davis ($11,200): Davis only put up 48.5 DraftKings points against the Suns in the first meeting, which is well under what you want when you shell out this kind of money for him. He should be well rested after last night though. He is about all this team has. Davis is always a threat for well above 5x value.

Kristaps Porzingis ($7,300): Porzingis has cooled down lately, but the Lakers wont provide a whole lot of resistance for him. I like him better than most players in this range because of the matchup, but if Rose misses the game again, I’m staying off Porzingis. Rose and him seemed to develop well together as Porzingis did much better with Rose in there.

Honorable Mention:

Draymond Green ($7,700): Green had a terrible game last night against the Grizzlies, who are a tough interior team. Expect him to rebound nicely against a Minnesota team that he missed out on the first time around.

Gorgui Dieng ($5,300): Dieng racked up 32 DraftKings points in the first matchup against the Warriors. His price is low enough now that Dieng has hit 5x value in three of his last four games. He should make it four of five here.

Dark Horses:

Kyle O’Quinn ($4,200): O’Quinn has carved out a nice role for the Knicks even with Noah back. O’Quinn has five straight games of at least 5x value. In three of those, he has gone over 7x value. He could be a great source of cheap points tonight.

Jared Dudley ($3,500): Dudley has done well with a few extra minutes with the struggles of Tucker and the injury to T.J. Warren. Dudley has responded with three straight games of more than 5x value. He should reach that again here.

My pick: Dieng(PF), O’Quinn(F)

DraftKings
Dec 6, 2016; Auburn Hills, MI, USA; Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond (0) dunks the ball against the Chicago Bulls in the first half at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Mandatory Credit: Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Center

Best Bets:

Andre Drummond ($8,000): Drummond has been an absolute terror lately. He has gone over 52 DraftKings points in each of the last two games. Philadelphia will be without Joel Embiid tonight, so a good matchup for Drummond just got even better.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,100): The Warriors have defended opposing centers very well, but Towns put up 42.5 DraftKings points on them in the first meeting. He at least deserves considering as a fade option to Drummond.

Honorable Mention:

Jahlil Okafor ($5,000): Nerlens Noel will make his season debut tonight, but with Embiid out, Okafor will start and play the lion’s share of the minutes. He has shown the ability to put up games well above his price range. This could be one of those even though he does have to tangle with Drummond. Something tells me Okafor will be spending plenty of time with the second string as well.

Dark Horses:

Tyson Chandler ($4,500): Alex Len has come up with the occasional big game, but Chandler is the solid play. If you are looking to take a risk, Len is fine, just keep in mind that Chandler put up 37.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Pelicans. He is a huge bargain if he can do that again.

Timofey Mozgov ($3,200): Mozgov has quietly hit 5x value in the last four games. Statistically, the Knicks are the worst in the league against opposing centers. Mozgov is a big sleeper tonight even against Joakim Noah.

My pick: Drummond(C), Chandler(UTIL)
