30. Military Bowl: Temple vs. Wake Forest

I get it; Wake Forest Demon Deacons football isn’t the most exhilarating experience that you’ve ever enjoyed. That’s all fine and well, but I don’t want anyone to think that they aren’t capable of producing a hard-fought football game when the time comes. That is to say, they’re a better overall team than some might give them credit. However, the Temple Owls are also a good football team that people already give credit and deservedly so. They’re also a mile ahead of the Demon Deacs in my book. We have yet another game that I don’t expect to be all that close.

29. Foster Farms Bowl: Indiana vs. Utah

While I’ve long thought that this current iteration of the Utah Utes isn’t as good as their ranking would indicate, I do believe that they have talent. Running back Joe Williams is an absolute stud and, when the coaches aren’t being thick-skulled and consistently give him the rock, he’s electric. The problem with the Foster Farms Bowl, though, is the fact that the same can’t be said for the Indiana Hoosiers in my book. This team is the very definition of average in that it’s hard to truly pinpoint one thing they truly excel at consistently. I think this one is a rout for the Utes, even if I don’t think they’re that good.

28. Pinstripe Bowl: Pittsburgh vs. Northwestern

Pittsburgh Panthers running back James Conner’s story might be the best in the entire sport. Beating cancer and coming back to be a fantastic player in the ACC is absolutely incredible. However, I don’t want anyone to get that twisted into thinking that either Pitt or the Northwestern Wildcats are ostensibly good football teams. With Conner and Justin Jackson, there are two talented running backs in this matchup that should be fun to watch. But for me, that’s just the reason why they get to No. 28 in these rankings. Not much else appears exciting and this one could feature roughly 70 carries on the night, grinding every yard out.
