27. Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: Idaho vs. Colorado State

At their best, both of these teams have shown the propensity to put a lot of points on the board. The issue, of course, is that the Idaho Vandals finished 8-4 in the Sun Belt and the Colorado State Rams finished 7-5 in the Mountain West. Thus, you can see that they didn’t reach their peaks nearly consistently enough for them to be major players in college football. When they go head-to-head, though, the hope would be that they can rise up and play at their top-level. If they do that, this game should be somewhat entertaining. But my faith that it happens is far from 100 percent.

26. Bahamas Bowl: Eastern Michigan vs. Old Dominion

This might not qualify as an acceptable reason, but I largely have this matchup between the Eastern Michigan Eagles and Old Dominion Monarchs this high because it’s fun to watch a college football game be played in the Bahamas. That’s simple, yes. However, it’s one of those sights we only see once a year and it’s a nifty little treat for football fans. As for the actual game, Eastern Michigan is decidedly average in every way and Old Dominion has an explosive offense. I ultimately don’t think that it’ll be close as the Monarchs should run away with it. But hey, palm trees!

25. Peach Bowl: Washington vs. Alabama

I can already hear the yells and PAWLLLs from here over how low I have the Alabama Crimson Tide. But let me pose this question: did anyone that isn’t a fan of the Crimson Tide enjoy the SEC Championship Game or really most any other big game Bama played in this season? They are so far and away the best team in the country that it’s not fair.

While I love this Washington Huskies team and think Chris Petersen will have tricks up his sleeve, they aren’t ready for the Crimson Tide. This one is going to be a blowout and only ranks as high as it does because of the fun talent on the field and the Petersen factor with his track record in big games. Otherwise, you can flip away from this one early as the result won’t be in question.
