Alamo Bowl: Oklahoma State vs. Colorado – Dec. 29, 9 p.m. ET

For much of the 2016 season, the Colorado Buffaloes looked like the real deal. Everyone kept expecting their fairy-tale, unexpected run of success to flicker out at some point, but it never did. However, they ultimately met their demise once they met up with the Washington Huskies in the Pac-12 Championship. Of course, the Oklahoma State Cowboys’ season didn’t exactly end well, getting shown the door by Oklahoma.

That said, the Washington game proved that a talented Colorado defense is indeed vulnerable if you continue to attack from different angles, even if your quarterback has a bad game. Moreover, Sefo Liufau and the Buffaloes offense remain inconsistent. That’s the last thing you want when facing off with the Mason Rudolph led attack of the Cowboys. It’s been a great run for Colorado, but I expect this to play out much like the Pac-12 title game.

Prediction: Oklahoma Sate: 35, Colorado: 17

Liberty Bowl: Georgia vs. TCU – Dec. 30, Noon ET

Disappointment would be the theme for both the Georgia Bulldogs and TCU Horned Frogs throughout the 2016 season. Both were expected to at least be competitive in their respective conferences and both wind up in the Liberty Bowl—so you tell me how that worked out for them.

That said, neither team is devoid of talent. While running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel carry the load for Georgia, freshman quarterback Jacob Eason has been incredible at his best, though he’s been quite bad when he’s played his age. Meanwhile, Kenny Hill and the Horned Frogs have shown flashes throughout the year, though they’ve been far and few between. In the end, the Bulldogs have more playmakers on both sides of the ball by my estimation and would love to build off a big bowl win for Eason going forward.

Prediction: Georgia: 27, TCU: 24
