The last  time Virginia Tech had a quarterback this good, he went on to be one of the most exciting dual-threats in NFL history. While Jerod Evans is no Michael Vick, the JUCO transfer is still making a name for himself — or at least he should have by now.

Evans has been an impressive dual-threat this season, leading Virginia Tech to the ACC title game against Clemson, nearly pulling off the upset. In that contest, he passed for 264 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two more scores.

There’s no doubt that the Hokies wouldn’t be where they are through the regular season without the help of Evans at quarterback. A 9-4 record and matchup with Arkansas in the Belk Bowl is a success and if/when he comes back as a senior, the Hokies could once again be the favorites to win the ACC Coastal.

Virginia Tech will be favored in the Belk Bowl and Arkansas struggled in the latter half of the season, going 4-5 in the final nine games after a 3-0 start. The Razorbacks’ defense hasn’t been all that great and Evans will take advantage.

Don’t be shocked if he surpasses 250 yards for the 10th time this season, along with a few touchdowns and maybe even a couple of rushing scores.
