player. 53. . DL. Alabama. Jonathan Allen. 9

Jonathan Allen could easily be the No. 1 overall pick next April, but we like Myles Garrett in that spot. However, the Cleveland Browns could get two of the top defensive players in this draft anyway, as they currently would select at No. 9 as well. The Philadelphia Eagles have not been winning as of late, and it is looking like that draft pick the Browns got from them for the No. 2 pick last draft will certainly pay off.

Allen is a disruptive force for the Alabama Crimson Tide, who are the odds on favorite to repeat as National Champions in 2016. The team has been led by their stellar defense, and Allen is the best player on a unit that has dominated the SEC this season. He is going to be an incredible pro, and if the Browns can grab him and Garrett in the first round, their defense is going to be markedly better in 2017.

Cleveland could grab a quarterback in the first round, but I do not believe this regime is going to do that. Head coach Hue Jackson knows he has a tremendous amount of holes to fill, and he has to start with the defense. There is a ton of defensive talent in this draft, and while a quarterback may be a sexy pick, there is a lot more talent at the position in the 2018 draft class.
