High Value SG

Wesley Matthews-Dallas Mavericks (5,800): Matthews has been on fire lately with over 25 points in four of his last six games and enough non-scoring stats to get to 33 fantasy points in three straight and five of his last seven. He had 33.8 fantasy points on 25-4-0 and two steals against he Nuggets in 32 minutes on Monday, and he has definitely shaken off a bad shooting slump from earlier this season. Matthews has always been a streaky option, so ride this hot streak while it lasts. Tonight, he’ll take on Kevtavious Caldwell-Pope and the Pistons at home in big D.

Evan Fournier-Orlando Magic (5,500): The Clippers have limited opposing SG pretty well for much of the season, but the numbers say the have struggled a little bit more recently. That could be good timing for Fournier who is starting to find his groove as the Magic’s go-to offensive option in their starting five. Fournier had 39.8 fantasy points against the Nuggets on Friday on 24-4-6 and followed that up with 38 fantasy points last night against Atlanta on 23-0-6 with a pair of steals. Fournier has over 27 fantasy points in three of his last four games and five of his last eight. He’s still a little boom-or-bust, but he should be good-to-go in the back half of Orlando’s back-to-back tonight.

Nick Young-Los Angeles Lakers (3,900): The Swaggy P comeback story was a little derailed by a calf injury, but Nick Young is back and starting for the Lakers. He played 20 minutes in his return on Sunday and finished with 19.8 fantasy points on 15-4-0. the following night he played more with 26 minutes but produces less with just 11.9 fantasy points. He should be able to put up big fantasy numbers tonight if he gets that many minutes against the Nets since Brooklyn is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing SG this season. He’s still a flier play, but there’s definitely upside to like tonight.

J.R. Smith-Clevleand Cavaliers (3,500): While the season hasn’t gotten off to a great start for Smith after re-signing with the Cavs this offseason, he did have a nice night last night against the Grizzlies posting a season-high 23 points to go with five bboards to get to 33 fantasy points. Tonight, the Cavs are resting Irving, LeBron, and Kevin Love which will leave as many shots for J.R. as he wants. He’ll look to build on last night’s performance and he could be ready for streak of productivity. He has played over 30 minutes in three of his last four games, and he should get all the time and offensive chances he can handle tonight in Memphis.
