Ranking the top 50 college football programs of all time
Missouri isn’t currently known as one of the best programs in the nation, but one of the newest members of the SEC has already competed for a couple of conference titles by winning two division titles since 2013. That’s a rare feat in arguably the toughest conference in the country.
The Tigers were led by Gary Pinkel during the division-winning 2013-14 seasons, going 23-5 during that time with Cotton and Citrus Bowl victories. A few years before, he led the Tigers to three Big 12 North division crowns in four years which snowballed into Cotton and Alamo Bowl wins with an Insight Bowl loss.
The school has 15 conference titles, but none since 1969, when Dan Devine was the head coach and the Big Eight Conference was still around. Missouri also has three national titles to its name and 32 consensus All-Americans.
Missouri ranks 48th on the all-time win list with current and former Division 1 programs and that would put them at 32nd in terms of current FBS programs. The Tigers also have a 15-16 all-time bowl record and they’ve made one in 10 out of the last 14 years. Some notable alumni are Kellen Winslow and Paul Christman.

Barry Odom had a rough first season as the head coach in 2016, but with the resources he has, the Tigers should be back contending for SEC East division crowns soon enough.
