Ranking 22nd among college football programs in all-time wins and 16th among FBS schools, the Virginia Tech Hokies might not get the love they deserve as ACC contenders. While the Hokies have just 10 conference titles in school history, theyhave four since 2004, right up there with Clemson and Florida State in that stretch.

Virginia Tech doesn’t have a national title to its name just yet, but that day will come. For now, they’re just ACC contenders and the Hokies are coming off an appearance in the conference title game in which they nearly took down Clemson.

How impressive has this program been even without a national title? Well, the Hokies have made 24 straight bowl games dating all the way back to the 1993 season. Beloved head coach Frank Beamer started the streak and is the most celebrated head coach in school history, going 238-121-2 in his 29 seasons with the Hokies. He also won seven conference titles.

Justin Fuente is trying to carry on the tradition, going 9-3 in his first season with Virginia Tech, and winning the ACC Coastal division in 2016.

VA Tech fans will look great with this Nike t-shirt.

There aren’t many big names that have graced the program, but the Hokies have produced two first overall selections in the NFL draft in Bruce Smith (1985) and Michael Vick (2001). The latter was regarded as the most exciting dual-threat quarterback in NFL history during his years with the Falcons.
