LeBron James took to his Instagram account on Thursday to pay his respects to the late Craig Sager, who passed away from his battle with leukemia.

The NBA lost a beloved member of its family on Thursday afternoon. Longtime sideline reporter for TNT Craig Sager tragically passed away at the age of 65 from his multi-year battle with leukemia.

Sager was one of the most unforgettable people who made the NBA so great. From all of his questions with Gregg Popovich to his insane color combinations of suits, Sager will be dearly missed. Here is what LeBron James had to say about the loss of his friend Sager on his Instagram account on Thursday afternoon.

In his post, James would say “Great to have work[ed] with you, known you and watch you for all these years. My blessing to your family and many prayers sent to the heavens above! #SagerStrong”.

Sager had been with Turner Sports long before James came into the league as an 18-year-old as the No. 1 overall pick on the 2003-04 Cleveland Cavaliers. James has won three NBA Championships and been to three other NBA Finals.

Sager was the friendly sideline reporter James got to know over the years from playing on all those nationally televised primetime games on TNT.

If James is considered the face of the NBA, then Sager had to be the wardrobe. He wouldn’t have had it any other way. The suits, the insightful, well-phrased questions, the laughs. We’re really going to miss Sager doing NBA games on TNT.
