The Carolina Panthers travel to face the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football at FedEx Field in Week 15. Here’s a preview and a look at the odds.

Monday Night Football in Week 15 will feature a matchup between two playoff teams from last season who are at risk of missing the postseason this season. The Washington Redskins (7-5-1) will host the Carolina Panthers (5-8) at FedEx Field. Both teams are struggling, but they each have a franchise quarterback, even if neither signal-caller is looking the part consistently at the moment.

The Panthers will need a lot of luck to make the playoffs. Monday is a must win game for them if they want to keep their razor thin playoff hopes alive. After having one of the top offenses in the NFL last season, Carolina ranks 13th in points per game (23.9) and 19th in total yards per game (340.3). Cam Newton has just 15 passing touchdowns with nine interceptions and 2,774 passing yards. He has added 317 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Newton has been loathe to run it in 2016, something very different from last season.

On the other side of the field, Washington is coming off an impressive win over the Philadelphia Eagles. However, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants ahead of them in the standings, they must get a win to keep to keep their postseason hopes alive. Kirk Cousins averages over 300 yards per game, ranking second in the NFL in passing yards per game. The Redskins defense has been the issue, allowing over 24 points per game.

Definitely go with the over in this one. Cousins and Newton should easily put up 51 points, even if it is late December. Also, both defenses have been struggling. Carolina’s secondary will have a tough time stopping Cousins.

Prediction: Washington 34, Carolina 30
