Find out if you’ll be able to see the big new Star Wars spinoff on the biggest movie screens around.

There’s never really a bad time to take in a movie in an IMAX theater, but some films call out for the really big screen treatment more than others. Star Wars movies are right up there, because space opera should be as large as possible.

Fortunately, Disney, Lucasfilm, Gareth Edwards and all the other people responsible for making Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, agree with that sentiment. The film is being released in IMAX 3D, meaning that you’ll not only experience AT-ATs that look their actual size, you’ll get to see them popping out of the screen as well.

As with its normal treatments, Rogue One opens in IMAX theaters in the U.S. on the evening of December 15 prior to its official opening the following day. You can get tickets straight from the IMAX website, where you’ll also be able to enter a special Rogue One sweepstakes.

Interestingly, there hasn’t been a whole lot of buzz about Rogue One being presented in IMAX 3D, but there has been talk about a different one: 70mm, which is big even by IMAX standards. Only 13 theaters in North America will show the movie that way.
