So you didn’t get advance tickets to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Don’t worry, we’ve got all of the info you need to see it on opening day.
Don’t be discouraged if all of your friends have advance tickets to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story but you don’t. It’s okay. You’ll still be able to see it.
There used to be a time when midnight showings of newly released movies were exactly that — one showing at midnight. You had one shot, and if you missed your opportunity then you had to wait (gasp!) until Friday. The advent of multiplex theaters made it so that you had a good chance of getting in on Friday as well.
So here’s how this helps all of the folks without advance tickets — the days of a single showing are over. Thursday night showings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story start at 7 p.m. local time and continue until at least midnight, if not later. Some theaters have showings every half hour, while some are every hour. As of Wednesday night, several theaters still have tickets available for the later Thursday night showings.
The news gets even better if you’re just looking to see the movie on opening weekend. Since the biggest fans will be seeing the movie on Thursday, that opens up the Friday spots. While it’s true that some fans will be on their second and third viewings by Friday night, the fact is that the highest demand is for early Thursday night. The best time to catch Rogue One with little commotion? Friday afternoon. That will get you in to see the movie early enough to not hear spoilers.
