High Salary PG

Giannis Antetokounmpo-Milwaukee Bucks (9,300): “The Alphabet” rose to the occasion last night as he took on Jimmy Butler and the Bulls piling up 30-14-3 (points-rebounds-assists) with a block and three steals for 61.5 fantasy points. He has at least 53 fantasy points in four of his last five games and seven of his last nine. He has been more consistent at delivering value at his price than Harden lately which is why I like him better on a points-per-dollar basis tonight. Antetokounmpo faces the Bulls again tonight, so the matchup is obviously one he can excel in. However, the only concern with investing in him tonight is that it is the second night of a back-to-back, and he has struggled a little bit  in those situations this season (17.5-8.8-5.3 average compared to 22.6-9.1-5.8 on the season). He’s a good way to invest over 9K, but there are better options with less risk at the next tier down, in my opinion.

Kyle Lowry-Toronto Raptors (8,300): Both John Wall and Chris Paul have been playing well and are solid picks for tonight, but both of them are in tough matchups. Instead, I’m going to pivot off them and roll with Lowry of Toronto as he and the Raptors take on the Hawks. Atlanta has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG this season and the most of any team in the NBA over their last five and ten-game spans. Lowry faced them on Saturday, December 3, and finished with 42 fantasy points on 17-8-8  in just 31 minutes. If you’re spending over 8K on a PG tonight, Lowry makes the most sense since he’s at home, well-rested, and in a good matchup.∗∗∗

Jrue Holiday-New Orleans Pelicans (6,800): Holiday looked excellent last night for New Orleans in their win over Indiana. He totaled 16-7-14 for 46.25 fantasy points. He played 36 minutes and will be playing in just his third back-to-back set this season, but I still think he’s a solid play since he now has at least 35 fantasy points in three straight and he’ll keep getting more of the play-making responsibilities with Tim Frazier sidelined for the next week or so. Holiday will have to deal with Patrick Beverley’s tough defense, but he’s a solid play in what should be a high-scoring game in Houston.

Dennis Schroder-Atlanta Hawks (6,600): Schroder’s price is on the rise, but he’s still a little under-priced based on his recent run of good production. He has at least 36 fantasy points in four straight and seven of his last eight games. The only game during that eight-game stretch where he finished under 30 fantasy points came against the Raptors who he’ll get another shot at tonight. In that game, he was still productive (26.75 fantasy points) but played only 24 minutes since it turned into a rout on the second night of Atlanta’s back-to-back. Schroder comes into tonight after two days off since he posted 19-1-13 against the Magic on Tuesday for 44.75 fantasy points. If Atlanta can keep it close, the young PG makes a nice option.∗∗
