Hoffenheim face Borussia Dortmund at Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Friday. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Both Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund are part of the group of clubs in the top half of the Bundesliga table that have created a bit of a traffic jam. Only four points separate third-place Hertha Berlin and seventh-place FC Koln. Wedged in-between them are Hoffenheim (fourth, 26 points), Eintracht Frankfurt (fifth, 26 points), and Dortmund (sixth, 25 points).
Hertha Berlin have to travel to second-place RB Leipzig, who have been flat out on fire this season, on Saturday. If Hertha stumble, either Hoffenheim or BVB could hop up into third with a win.
Hoffenheim are undefeated in the Bundesliga this season, but have only won two of their last six league matches. Dortmund have won three of their last six, but an unfortunate loss to Frankfurt has kept them on the outside of top four looking in.
American international Christian Pulisic is still receiving a lot of attention from potential suitors – Liverpool were so aggressive that BVB had to tell them to chill out – but he didn’t see any playing time this weekend against Koln. Of course, he did start against a little team called Real Madrid in the Champions League the previous Wednesday, helping his side win their group. Expect him to play a part in the outcome on Friday.
