On Saturday, there will be a variety of college basketball games being played. Some of the best teams in the nation are going to have a game, making for potentially the busiest day of college basketball to begin the season. One of these matchups will see the UCLA Bruins host the Ohio State Buckeyes. This game will take place at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, CA.
UCLA has arguably been college basketball’s top team in 2016-17. They stand at No. 2 in the AP Poll with an 11-0 record. This most notably saw them defeat then No. 1-ranked Kentucky a few weeks ago, 97-92, which helped them slide into this top two spot.
The Bruins are full of stars, including TJ Leaf, who is putting up 18.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Star point guard Lonzo Ball is also averaging over 14 points, nearly nine assists and five rebounds per game, and has looked every bit as advertised from when he entered from the high school ranks.
Ohio State isn’t ranked, but has an 8-2 record. They started the year with six straight wins, but have lost two of the last four games by a combined four points. The first loss came to Virginia, who is ranked. However, the second one was against Florida Athletic, which may be a blemish later this season if the Buckeyes have an issue getting into the NCAA Tournament.
