Stoke and Leicester face off in matchday 17 of the Premier League. Both sides look to get back to winning ways after their respective midweek results. Leicester had a disappointing defeat away to Bournemouth while Stoke were held at home by Southampton. However, the Potters result was much better than it sounds as they played 75 minutes of the match with 10 men after Marko Arnautovic was sent off. If Stoke win on Saturday they could go as high as eighth in the table, which most of their fans would probably take at this stage in the season.
Claudio Ranieri must be perplexed by his team’s performances of late. They tore Manchester City apart last weekend in an inspired performance which you think would have given them the confidence to go on a winning run. Unfortunately for Leicester fans, this was not the case as they lost 1-0 to Bournemouth in a match they could have taken something from.
Bournemouth were strong at the back and although Leicester created chances they could not find the finishing touch. Mark Hughes may look to replicate Bournemouth’s performance but it’s unlikely the Foxes will draw a blank in two consecutive games. He should also trust in his own side’s attacking players like Xherdan Shaqiri and Bojan, who are both capable of something special.
