Am I crazy to think the North Carolina Tar Heels will remain in the top 10 after suffering their second loss of the season? Maybe, but a three-point defeat against Kentucky in arguably the best game of the season isn’t enough to drop them more than three spots. Roy Williams’ team has the talent and North Carolina’s two losses have been against tough foes in Kentucky and Indiana. The ACC will be interesting this season.

Creighton had quite the scare against Oral Roberts on Saturday, winning only by a point. Oral Roberts, despite its lackluster record, has given plenty of teams grief this season and the Bluejays almost fell victim to a mammoth upset. They remain unbeaten, however, and will need to take care of business before conference play begins in order to remain in the top 10.

Who would have thought that Louisville would be this solid after losing some major talent from last year’s squad? The Cardinals are sitting pretty in the top 10 after another week without a loss, beating Eastern Kentucky by 31. Although beating these inferior opponents is nice, the Cardinals have a lot of work to do before ACC play.

Facing a tough Tennessee team on Sunday, the Gonzaga Bulldogs remained undefeated with the win and that makes the WAC look even more un-winnable for a team like St. Mary’s. The Bulldogs have one of the best resumes in college basketball this season and there’s a good chance they could run the run the table and finish the regular season unbeaten.

Duke had the week off, but I think they might drop one spot just because Kentucky, who was No. 6 last week, came out with a big win over No. 7 North Carolina. The Blue Devils are getting everyone back and healthy now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they came back and dominated the rest of the regular season, running through the ACC.
