What would go down in this WWE Roadblock match between Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho on Sunday night?

One of the top nontitle matches at WWE Roadblock saw Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho go head-to-head. These two aren’t exactly unfamiliar with each other, as they have had matches throughout the fall, all with Rollins winning. It may bring up the question of why is WWE bothering putting these two in the ring again? That won’t matter, though, as Jericho and Rollins battled on Sunday night.

When Jericho went to ringside, he actually had a “Stupid Idiot” section. Clever idea for whoever created this.

Rollins and Jericho started things somewhat slow. They each played to the crowd a bit until Rollins went to control the match with a few holds. Jericho then connected with a stiff kick to the face and a dropkick before going for a near-fall. The Architect then looked to turn things around with a knee to the face of Y2J at ringside.

The referee would get in Rollins’ way on the apron, leading to Jericho hitting a springboard dropkick to send him to ringside. This nearly led to a countout finish.

Rollins fought back with an enzuigiri and a sling blade to get in control. He then hit a blockbuster for a near-fall. A Jericho lionsault attempt would also be countered before Rollins hit a suicide dive through the second rope. The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rollah would then lock in the Walls of Jericho, but Rollins got back to the ropes to break it up.

Jericho blocked the Pedigree, but after Rollins attempted a few pin attempts, Jericho got him back into the Walls. Rollins countered into a small package for a near-fall. Kevin Owens then ran out to interfere in the match and help Jericho win, but he ended up distracting the referee while Rollins was rolled up. This led to Rollins hitting a Pedigree on Jericho for the win.

Owens interfering in this match likely sets things up for the main event, which will see him defend the WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns. Could this mean Jericho tries to cost KO the title?

Jericho and Rollins didn’t put on anything that we hadn’t seen in their matches on Raw. It was fine, but unspectacular if anything. They need to move on from each other after WWE Roadblock.
