Your last chance to get an NES Classic before Christmas might be today at Best Buy

Unless you’re confident that Santa himself is bringing you an NES Classic, this might be your last chance to pick one up in person.

“Best Buy: Saving Christmas.” To my knowledge, that’s not an actual tag line for the retailer, but it might well be later today for people looking to get their hands on an NES Classic Edition.

As Nintendo is wont to do, the company has had a hard time keeping stores stocked with its $60 mini blast of gaming nostalgia. It’s been even more difficult to find one for sale than it is to remember all the patterns in Punch-Out!!

(Our own attempts to acquire one online ended in misery.)

And yet, it’s not quite time to abandon all hope. As reported by Fortune, Best Buy will supposedly have the NES Classic available today. That is, if you’re reading this on Tuesday, December 20. If not, it’s probably already too late.

You should no better than to think that Best Buy will be getting truckloads of the system, but Fortune seems optimistic that at least a few lucky people will be able to get one NES Classic edition each:

"Best Buy says it will treat this like a Black Friday deal. If you show up, you will get a ticket for one (and only one) and then it will hand the NES Classic Edition over to you for $60."

So … yeah. If you thought the days of people sleeping in their cars awaiting stores to open were a thing of the past, you might want to check the Best Buy parking lot nearest you. Could be some shoppers camping out when you drive to work today. Or you could be there yourself.

Best of luck!
