One year removed from having one of the worst defensives in the league, the New York Giants are riding their defense to a possible playoff berth. If the Giants can beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, they will have clinched a playoff spot, marking an incredible comeback from last season. The team is loaded with playmakers on both sides of the ball, but they could use some help at the linebacker position.
University of Alabama linebacker Tim Williams is an incredible talent at the position, possessing the motor to get all over the field. He is good against the run, and the pass, and has the football I.Q. to be a great player at the next level. He has made some questionable decisions off the field during his time with the Crimson Tide, but he appears to have put that behind him.
The Giants are loaded up front, as Olivier Vernon and Jason Pierre-Paul are great at getting after the quarterback. While there may not be enough money to pay both of them next season, the Giants should still be able to have a quality defense without JPP. If they cannot re-sign him, adding a linebacker like Williams who can get after the quarterback will be key.
