NFL Mock Draft: Week 16
By Brad Weiss
Another season, another AFC East Championship, as the New England Patriots won their eighth straight division crown this past weekend. Quarterback Tom Brady went into Denver and beat a very tough Broncos defense, though he struggled once again in the Mile High city. New England is going to be there at the end this season, as they are currently the favorite to win the Super Bowl in February.
New England has done a nice job with their running game in 2016, as the combination of Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount have taken some of the pressure off of Brady and the passing game. However, they need to add some more talent to the group, and Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey would be a perfect fit in New England. He has a unique skill set at the running back position, and could be used all over the field in Josh McDaniel’s offense.
McCaffrey, like Leonard Fournette, has made the decision to skip his bowl game to focus on the NFL Draft. That means that whatever tape the scouts have on him is all they are going to get, and it is some pretty good tape. He is going to be a solid pro, and the Patriots need more playmakers on offense, so this could be a wonderful match.
