Titans at Jaguars: Highlights, score, and recap
The Tennessee Titans were coming off wins over the Broncos and Chiefs. But they would stumble badly against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After winning a total of five games from 2014-15, the Tennessee Titans entered Week 16 as co-leaders in the AFC South. On the other hand, the Jacksonville Jaguars entered Saturday afternoon riding a nine-game losing streak. The team is now under the control of interim head coach Doug Marrone.
Earlier this season, the Titans embarrassed Jacksonville on a Thursday night. But it’s worth noting that these two divisional rivals have split their season series the past seven years.
Make it eight consecutive seasons. The Jaguars stunned the Titans, 38-17, and in the process Tennessee watched quarterback Marcus Mariota go down in the third quarter. It’s safe to say it was a forgettable afternoon for Mike Mularkey’s club.

Three Stars
1. Blake Bortles
Talk about multi-tasking? The much-maligned third-year pro has not had the best of years. But on Sunday against the hot Titans, Bortles connected on 26-of-38 passes for 325 yards and one touchdown to wideout Marqise Lee. The latter would return the favor in the fourth quarter as Lee threw a 20-yard score to Bortles.
2. Allen Robinson
The 2015 Pro Bowler has not enjoyed a great season. But he had a fairly productive day against the Tennessee defense. Robinson didn’t score a touchdown but was target 12 times and caught nine passes for 147 yards in his team’s 21-point victory.
3. Paul Posluszny
The Jacksonville defense has had it issues against the run this season. But in their convincing win over the Titans, the veteran linebacker totaled nine tackles and helped his defense limit running back DeMarco Murray to 42 yards rushing and the Tennessee ground attack to only 58 yards.

Odds
The Tennessee Titans were 4.5-points favorites to sweep the host Jaguars. The OVER/UNDER sat at a fairly conservative 43.5, which makes sense given the defensive nature of both clubs. So much for that theory.
Next Week
The Titans host the defending AFC South champion Houston Texans, Tennessee has dropped five straight in the series. The Jaguars get another crack at the Indianapolis Colts, one of the team’s three victories this year.
