The Green Bay Packers advanced their winning streak to five games by beating the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

60. Final. 38. 49. 25

Earlier this season, the Green Bay Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings. However, both teams have changed quite a bit from that game. The Vikings were in the midst of a 5-0 start while Green Bay was in the middle of a 4-6 start. At Lambeau Field in Week 16, the Packers got their revenge, topping Minnesota 38-25.

The game was a battle between two quarterbacks who did great. Aaron Rodgers came out on top, completing 28 of 38 passes, throwing for 347 yards and four passing touchdowns. He ran for another, giving him five touchdowns on the day. Sam Bradford performed quite admirably despite losing, throwing for 382 yards and three touchdowns.

An offensive showdown was not the expected result of the game, but that’s what the fans got. Both defenses struggled throughout the day to stop the gunslingers from firing all the bullets in their chambers. With the win, Green Bay sets up a huge Week 17 game with the NFC North title on the line against the Detroit Lions.

Highlights

Three Stars

  1. Aaron Rodgers: The Packers quarterback continues to give the Vikings nightmares. He has now won 12 of his 18 career games against them. Rodgers had one of his best career games against them, putting up 349 passing yards and five total touchdowns. He’s making a very good MVP case with his play over the second half of the season.
  2. Sam Bradford: Tip your hat to Bradford because he balled out today, but the effort was in vein. With 382 passing yards and three touchdowns, the former Eagles quarterback did his best to keep his team within striking distance against a dangerous Green Bay offense.
  3. Jordy Nelson: Nelson has taken the opportunity in the second half of the 2016 NFL season to remind people why he’s his quarterback’s favorite target. Nelson hauled in two touchdown passes and had nine receptions for 154 receiving yards.
