Broncos at Chiefs: Highlights, score and recap
By Brad Weiss
The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos will do battle on Sunday Night Football in Week 16 in an AFC West matchup in primetime.
With their loss to the Tennessee Titans this past weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs saw their lead in the AFC West disappear, and are now in line for a wildcard berth. The Denver Broncos are still fighting for their playoff lives, and a victory against the Chiefs on Sunday night would go a long way in them reaching the postseason. This one has the potential to be a classic in primetime, as both teams will be bringing added intensity to an already incredible rivalry.
For Denver, last weekend was a rough one, as they not only lost to the New England Patriots, but also were seen fighting each other in the locker room after. The defensive backs and the offensive line went at it after the team’s 16-3 loss to the Patriots, and the fight had to be broken up by head coach Gary Kubiak. The team has played well despite having a first-year starter under center, but against a top defense, the offense just could not put the ball into the end zone.
Kansas City has been one of the better teams in football all season long, and they are pretty stacked on both sides of the ball. Marcus Peters is one of the best players in football, and despite the fact that Alex Smith has been horrible under center, the team has won ten of their first 14 games. Playing in Arrowhead Stadium is always an advantage for the Chiefs, but they have suffered losses there this season, as they have been beaten twice.
This game is going to come down to which quarterback can move the ball against the other team’s solid defense. Siemian has been able to rack up the yards as of late, but he has absolutely no run game to speak of. Smith has looked like a guy who is afraid to take shots downfield, and it has led to the Chiefs being way too vanilla on offense. Whichever offense can get it going first will likely win this one on Sunday night.
Highlights
Highlights will be posted throughout the game.
Three Stars Prediction
1. Tyreek Hill
If it is a primetime game, then Tyreek Hill is going to find the end zone. Hill has been an incredible find for the Chiefs this season, as he has led the team when most of their playmakers have failed to show up. The team has lost Jamaal Charles for the season, and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has also missed a ton of time this year. Hill has been a touchdown machine, and he should find the end zone at least once on Sunday.
2. Demaryius Thomas
Despite the fact that Denver struggled to put up points last weekend, they were able to pass the ball well against a tough New England secondary. Trevor Siemian is playing some good football, and the organization feels he will be the guy moving forward. Expect Demaryius Thomas to be the main man on Sunday, as Siemian will be throwing it a lot to make up for the lack of a running game. Thomas should be able to put up some good stats in this one, while likely scoring for the Broncos.
3. Von Miller
Miller has been a beast this season and has shown that he is well worth the truckload of money the Broncos gave him in the offseason. He has led a Broncos defense that just may be better than the unit that led them to a Super Bowl championship last year. Expect Miller to get after Smith all night, as the Broncos will not be concerned with the Chiefs trying to burn them deep. He should register a sack or two, and do not be surprised if he forces a fumble in this one.

Odds
The Kansas City Chiefs are favorites inside the friendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium, as they are giving the Denver Broncos three points. The over/under is set at 37 points, so the odds makers do not expect much scoring in this one.
