LeBron James and Kevin Durant traded huge dunks early in a Christmas Day battle between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers.
If Christmas Day is the unofficial start of the NBA season, the superstars of the game are ringing in the new year with huge plays. With the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers being the showcase on Christmas Day, LeBron James and Kevin Durant tried to outdo each other on the floor.
This is Durant’s first taste of the rivalry between the two teams but he was off and running early. He decided early that we was going to throw a poster dunk down. The newest addition to the Warriors went right over Kevin Love for the jam. Not to be outdone by his counterpart, James was going to get one back for his team after a deep outlet pass on the resulting inbound.
This is what the NBA is all about right here and this is exactly the way to get fans hyped for this season. This is two superstars putting together a solo battle between the two within a team setting on the floor.

Give credit to Love here, because he wasn’t caught up in getting dunked on by Durant. While the Warriors were celebrating and slow getting back on defense, Love grabbed the ball and immediately fired a home run pass to his teammate.
James read the Warriors perfectly and was already down the floor by the time they realized where he was. Durant had the better dunk but James made sure that he wasn’t going to let it affect his team and rebounded nicely. A non-conference rivalry always makes sports interesting and watching these two teams go at it in the NBA Finals and on Christmas has been the best rivalry in the NBA over the last couple of seasons.
