Cam Newton grants Christmas wish for boy with heart condition (Video)
Cam Newton made the day of a boy dealing with a severe heart condition on Tuesday.
Cam Newton has been one to be featured in a handful of negative storylines in the media, including his battle with officials over giving him penalties. The Carolina Panthers have also had a down season and will miss the playoffs. This comes after losing Super Bowl 50 to the Denver Broncos earlier this year.
In the midst of this, Newton did a good deed for the holiday season. He visited a young boy with a severe heart condition on Tuesday, who is also an Auburn fan. Newton won the Heisman Trophy and national championship with the Tigers in 2010, having one of the best individual seasons in recent college football history.
As seen in the video below, the young boy gets emotional and quickly embraces Newton, who granted his Christmas wish.
It’s an incredible moment for the young boy, who gets to meet his idol and live out his Christmas wish. Newton doing something like this is also great. In general, whenever a professional athlete takes time out of their schedule to meet fans, it’s something special. Fans are usually very appreciative when their favorite player meets them, so the moment feels even grander, similar to the above video with the Auburn fan
