The Twitterverse responded with love and memories following the death of Carrie Fisher.

The world isn’t quite done mourning. Yet again, the Grim Reaper claimed another Hollywood icon in 2016.

After a weekend’s battle of combating a heart attack during a London-to-Los Angeles flight, 60-year-old Carrie Fisher passed away earlier Tuesday afternoon. Earlier in the wake of Carrie’s heart attack, reports surfaced that the actress who played Princess Leia was in stable condition. However, Carrie’s brother, Todd, defused that rumor and said himself that things weren’t looking positive.

We all know Carrie Fisher in some way, shape or form. We may have related to her when she was blessed with the role of Princess Leia. We also might have connected with her more personally as she addressed to the world that she’s been diagnosed with a mental illness. Some might also relate to her when it comes to battling a drug addiction, like she did earlier in her career.

Either way, the death of Carrie Fisher will unite people from all walks of life, from startup authors to the veterans of Hollywood. As a tribute, social media responded with some heartfelt messages, including one from Carrie’s daughter, remembering not just Princess Leia, but Carrie Fisher as an individual.

Laden with a heavy heart, the fan page for Carrie’s daughter, Billie Lourd, chimed in following the death of her mother. Billie is Carrie’s only child, of which she had with Hollywood agent and mogul, Bryan Lourd.

Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, had the following to say. Fisher actually provided the voice for Peter Griffin’s boss, Angela, in the show. MacFarlane also made several Star Wars references, along with an hour-long Star Wars episode of his own with a Family Guy twist.

Even a longtime villain of Princess Leia paid his respects and let the world know that he, too, is saddened by the news.

Fisher will be missed by many, and Star Wars fans across the world will never forget her.
