High Value PF

Tobias Harris-Detroit Pistons (5,600): Apparently coming off the bench works for Tobias Harris. Since moving to the bench two games ago, he has 26 and 31 points for 34.9 and 33.2 fantasy points. He is able to be much more of the focus of the offense in the second unit and the Pistons have looked much improved as a result hanging with the Warriors and beating the LeBron-less Cavaliers. Tonight, they’ll get the Bucks as Harris looks to continue to step up as the sixth-man. ∗∗

Thaddeus Young-Indiana Pacers (5,200): Young has scored at least 12 points in each of his last five games with at least 28 fantasy points in three of those contest. He had 28.2 fantasy points last Monday against the Wizards, and he’ll face Washington again tonight this time in Indiana. Young has 12-11-2 in that contest and followed it with even better nights against the Celtics and Knicks before cooling down against the Bulls. He’s a pretty safe pick for 20+ fantasy points tonight, but he also has upside since he was able to take it to Markieff Morris in their last meeting for that nice double-double. ∗∗∗

Jon Leuer-Detroit Pistons (4,900): Leuer got the promotion to the starting lineup when Harris went to the bench, and he has been solid with 21.4 and 24.5 fantasy points even though he hasn’t benefited as much as some of his regular fantasy investors were hoping. He’l probably get another start tonight against the Bucks making him a solid sub-5K play once again even though he doesn’t quite have the upside that Young or Harris bring.∗∗

Nikola Mirotic-Chicago Bulls (4,500): On Monday, Mirotic had a season-high 20 points while playing 30 minutes off the bench. He has at least 11 points in each of his last five games with over 27 fantasy points in each of his last three. He picked up some extra playing time due to Doug McDermott’s absence (shin-questionable) and will continue to be a solid bench option if he keeps getting 25+ minutes of playing time. The Bulls are in a great matchup tonight against the Nets who can’t defend either SF or PF where Mirotic logs his minutes. If things get one-sided, Mirotic could get some nice garbage time production as well, making him by favorite cheap play of the night. ∗∗∗∗

Al-Farouq Aminu-Portland Trail Blazers (4,100): Aminu was again in Portland’s starting lineup on Monday and looked good noggin 33 minutes against the Raptors and compiling a typically-balanced stat line of 8-8-3 for 24.1 fantasy points. Aminu could get some extra time and usage tonight against Sacramento, but because he doesn’t have one stat he always produces, he’s a volatile option. ∗

David West-Golden State Warriors (3,700): The veteran PF has been playing a little bit more recently and has at least 15 fantasy points in each of his last there games. When he’s on the floor, he is a solid creator as evidenced by his ten total assists in his last two games while he also offers solid scoring as well. He is a flier play tonight at PF, but he does have upside against Toronto at home at ORACLE.∗

Brandon Bass-Los Angeles Clippers (3,600): Another veteran getting extra playing time lately is Brandon Bass who is helping the Clippers fill the gaping hole in their front court left by the injury to Blake Griffin. Bass has 16.8 and 19.8 fantasy points in his last two games and has played 19 and 20 minutes against the Lakers and Nuggets. With Marreese Speights inconsistent and Paul Pierce under-sized, Bass is one of the better options the Clippers will have a tonight against the Pelicans making him a value option to consider if you go cheap at PF.∗∗
