Miami wide receiver Ahmmon Richards just embarrassed the West Virginia defense on this play in the Russell Athletic Bowl
The Miami Hurricanes got off to a slow start in the Russell Athletic on Wednesday, falling behind West Virginia 7-0 early. Really, the Miami passing attack could not get anything going, as junior Brad Kaaya just couldn’t really connect.
Well, he eventually did connect with a strike, and when he did, wide receiver Ahmmon Richards just took care of the rest from there.
In the second quarter, Kaaya threw just a little hitch route to Richards, and after the catch was made, his wide receiver just flat out embarrassed the Mountaineers the rest of the way for a 51-yard score to tie the game.
Now there’s the Big 12 defense that we all know and love! We were wondering when they were gonna show up, and they did just that in the second quarter for our enjoyment. And also to help Miami get right back in the game.
Since this amazing play, Miami quickly scored again to take a 14-7 lead just as things are winding down towards the half. So, it seems as if the Miami offense has figured out how to terrorize the West Virginia defense, and we’ll have to see if they can keep it up the rest of the way from here on out in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
