No. 22 USC travels to Oregon to open Pac-12 play against the Oregon State Beavers. The Trojans look to improve upon their undefeated record on this trip.
USC is coming off of their closest game of the season. Last Friday’s game against Wyoming ended in overtime with the Trojans edging a 94-92 win over the Cowboys. While the Beavers shouldn’t pose a major threat to their record, the game against Wyoming was a wakeup call for the team as they look to take on No. 21 Oregon on Friday.
The Trojans are led by guard Elijah Stewart who averages 15.5 points per game and 76.2 percent from the charity stripe. Forward Chimezie Metu leads the team in rebounds, with 7.8 per game, while guard Jordan McLaughlin leads the team with 5.2 assists per game.
The Beavers won their last game against Kent State, snapping a losing streak and marking the first win the team has seen in five games. Forward Tres Tinkle leads with 20.2 points per game and 77.6 percent from the free throw line, while guard Drew Eubanks is averaging 8.4 rebounds per game. Stephen Thompson rounds out the group with a team high 3.1 assists per game.
Looking at the numbers, USC outmatches Oregon State in every category by a fairly wide margin. The closest numbers come in field goal percentages, where the Trojans edge the Beavers 46.8 percent over 45.2 percent.
