4. Effectively run the football

If the Washington Huskies want to win this game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, they have to create a balanced offense. While they will want to let Jake Browning and his wide receivers win this game, they have to be able to run the ball too.

That’s not going to be easy against a stout Alabama defensive line that likes to shut down any run game the opposition throws at them. That means the Huskies’ offensive line are going to have to play their best game yet and really get a push at the line.

If Myles Gaskin can get some space, he can keep the Crimson Tide honest on defense and that will in return allow Browning to try and find his guys down the field. If they can’t run the ball, then they become one-dimensional and Alabama can key in on what they’re doing.

No one has perfected the recipe to defeat the defending National Champions this season and Washington will have their crack at it. They have to be effective in every phase to have a chance of being the team to move onto the National Championship Game.
