1. Chris Petersen’s magic

It isn’t necessarily a strategy, but the Washington Huskies need Chris Petersen to bust out the same magic he did over and over with the Boise State Broncos. No one will ever forget the plays he called against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl that created for one of the best bowl games of all time.

Petersen is going up against the best mind in the game in Nick Saban and he has to save his best plays for this game. He needs to bring things that the Crimson Tide can’t find on any game tape and hope his team can run them to perfection.

He has to be smart with his trick plays and call them when Alabama isn’t expecting them. There’s a reason he is one of the most highly regarded coaches in college football and it’s because of the way he puts his team in a position to win.

The statue of liberty and hook and ladder were just two of those great plays he dialed up during that fateful night in Glendale. He has the talent to pull off the big game-changing play in Atlanta and give his team a chance at the upset.

If this game is close late and there’s a chance to flip all momentum, Petersen is going to go for it and try to create that same magic everyone is used to yet again. The Crimson Tide have to be on their toes at all times.
