Michigan running back Chris Evans busted open a 30-yard run late to give his team the lead over Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
When the Michigan Wolverines needed a hero to step up late in an improbable comeback attempt in the Orange Bowl, Chris Evans was the man. After Michigan cut the deficit to five points with four minutes to go, they got one more chance at taking the lead again.
As the Wolverines drove the field, Evans busted a 30-yard run to give his team the lead with a little bit under two minutes to go. After trailing the Seminoles for almost all of the game, Evans gave his team the lead.
The Wolverines would then cap it off with a two-point conversion, courtesy of Amara Darboh. That of course would then lead to a wild final sequence between the to teams. Florida State would return a broken kickoff into Michigan territory and take the lead.
The Wolverines would block the extra point and then run it back to give themselves one last chance. Of course however, it was the touchdown by Evans that sparked the wild sequence of plays to end the game.
There’s nothing quite like two heavyweights showing up for a battle and these two made sure to make it memorable to the end. Evans did what he had to while giving his team new life in the game.
