Florida State’s mascot Osceola fell off Renegade during the team’s pregame introductions in the Orange Bowl on Friday night.

One of the best traditions in college football are the mascots. There aren’t very many storied mascots with the history that Osceola and Renegade have for the Florida State Seminoles. Osceola represents the Seminole tribe and Renegade is a horse he rides out onto the field every game.

On Friday night, the duo led the Seminoles out onto the field before their game against the Michigan Wolverines in the Orange Bowl. While the Seminoles got off to a fast start in the game, their mascots got off to a bit of a slow start.

Renegade started bucking around on the field a little bit and he fell to the ground and knocked Osceola right off of him. The latter would get up safe and sound fortunately.

It serves as a reminder that sometimes having live animals can get a little wild during pregame warmups. The duo have been around for years and there’s nothing quite like seeing them lead the Seminoles out onto the field each week.

However, this is an incident that could have ended up a lot worse. Everyone gets a little excited for big games and Renegade was no different in this situation. With the way the Seminoles were able to start the game with some huge scores, it’s hard to blame the horse for getting a little excited about what the team might do in the Orange Bowl.
