LSU Tigers wide receiver Malachi Dupre makes a crazy one-handed grab for a first down in the Citrus Bowl. He then gets flagged for taunting Louisville.

LSU Tigers wide receiver Malachi Dupre is undecided if he will enter the 2017 NFL Draft with a year left of eligibility. What he was decided about was ripping the Louisville Cardinals secondary after this incredible flag.

Dupre snags a marvelous one-handed catch from LSU quarterback Danny Etling for a 29-yard gain and a first-down in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. He was so fired up that he got flagged for taunting right after making the ridiculous grab.

The 15-yard penalty brought the Tigers back from the Louisville 35-yard line to midfield. LSU would eventually punch it in for six on a one-yard Derrius Guice score, capping off a well-executed 13-play drive to make it 14-3 Tigers after the made Colby Deladhoussaye PAT.

You can watch the series of events from Dupre in the Twitter video below.

LSU has had its issues all season in moving the chains aerially. Ed Orgeron’s team is very much a defense-first football team that loves to pound the rock on offense. Etling has been reliable, albeit mediocre at quarterback for the Tigers this season since taking over in early September.

Dupre projects to be another great wide receiver from LSU. Maybe he’ll be as good as either Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants or Jarvis Landry of the Miami Dolphins in the NFL? He has high upside as a receiver, but like anybody in the LSU passing game, was underutilized in college.

Making that play on the Louisville secondary was impressive, but the flag could have been costly for a lackluster LSU passing game. A 15-yard penalty would normally kill an LSU offensive drive. The Tigers powered through the Dupre penalty for their second touchdown of the day.
