Alabama Crimson Tide star inside linebacker Reuben Foster believes that the Washington Huskies were executing cheap shots in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.

The Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over the Washington Huskies in the 2016 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl 24-7 to advance to the National Championship Game in the 2017 College Football Playoff.

This game got a little chippy at the end and a few Alabama players had some things to say about how the Washington football program conducts itself. Defensive end Jonathan Allen called Washington ‘soft’. Inside linebacker Reuben Foster echoed his teammate’s sentiment and accused Washington of using cheap shots in this national semifinal.

Washington may have been a little too physical when the game was out of reach in the final minutes after the Bo Scarbrough touchdown run, but this kind of shade being thrown at Washington by Alabama seems a little petty.

Everybody and their brother knew that Alabama was going to be Washington in the Peach Bowl. Alabama hasn’t lost a football game in over a year. The Crimson Tide are a national title contender annually, while this was the best season in Huskies football since the Don James era in Seattle.

Maybe Washington played through the final whistle a few times to let the Crimson Tide know that they could meet again in next year’s Playoff? Who can top Alabama in the SEC? The SEC was as bad as it has been in well over a decade in 2016.

Washington will be right up there with the USC Trojans to come out of the Pac-12. The Huskies arrived a year earlier than expected under head coach Chris Petersen. Most of their corps returns to campus for 2017. Allen and Foster will graduate, but these two teams could definitely meet in next year’s College Football Playoff.
