There is no doubt that the Rose Bowl is a coming out party for Penn State’s Chris Godwin on Monday
There is one thing that is 100 percent certain about the 2016 Rose Bowl between Penn State and Notre Dame on Monday. If you didn’t know how Nittany Lions wide receiver Chris Godwin was before, then not only do you know him now, but you will never forget him.
Godwin has been playing the absolute game of his life against the Trojans, and just as the third quarter got underway in Pasadena and after Penn State had taken their first lead of the game, he was at it again with the madness.
Watch here as Godwin hauls in his second score of the game, this time 72 yards, on another catch that you just can’t figure out how in the world he made it.
Again, as if we haven’t said it enough already on Monday afternoon: how in the world did he make that play? It seemed as if that play was doomed for failure, but it ends up being one of the biggest plays for Penn State on the day.
In the first half, Godwin made an insane catch in the back corner of the end zone for a score, and then later he would haul in a one-handed catch making everyone shake their heads in disbelief.
We knew that if Penn State wanted to beat the Trojans out in Pasadena, every single playmaker would have to step up. Well, Godwin apparently took that message to heart.
We’ve seen all season long that Penn State is a second half team, and if early in the second of this one is any indication, the Nittany Lions are at it again.
