Report: Les Miles visits Minnesota
According to reports, Les Miles made a visit to the land of 10,000 lakes today.
Les Miles needs a fresh start after being fired at LSU. According to sources at 120 Sports, Miles was in the Twin Cities today in hopes of landing a new gig.
Miles compiled a 114-34 record at LSU from 2005-2016, including winning the National Championship in 2007.
He has a career record of 141-55 and is 8-6 in bowl games.
Miles was fired following an 18-13 loss to Auburn in September. The Tigers started the season just 2-2.
LSU decided to bring Miles back last season after he had been on the hot seat.
Miles would be a great fit at Minnesota. Not only would he return to a Power 5 conference, but the Big Ten West doesn’t feature Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State or Michigan State.
Ironically, Miles is a Michigan alum and played offensive line for the Wolverines. It would sure be must see TV with Miles on the sideline facing off against Jim Harbugh and especially Urban Meyer, considering the two have history from their SEC battles.
Miles’ toughest competition in the Big Ten West would be Wisconsin and Nebraska. Miles can recruit and he knows how to coach defense. Plus Minnesota needs to make a splash hire, and it’s not every day you have a chance to hire a coach that has pedigree like Miles.
