Here are updated highlights and score updates to Sunday’s Wild Card game between the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers.
Sunday will feature one of the most intriguing Wild Card games during the 2016 NFL postseason. Two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL will be going at it, as Eli Manning leads the New York Giants into Lambeau Field to square off against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The last time they faced each other in the postseason, New York won on their way to the Super Bowl in 2011.
This will be a showdown between Green Bay’s top tier offense and the Giants’ steady and dominant defense. Whichever side can dominate the other likely wins the game. Green Bay’s offense could be very hard to stop. Rodgers led the entire NFL with 40 touchdown passes in 2016. He also threw for over 4,400 passing yards.
Meanwhile, the Giants allowed merely 17.8 points per game this season, the second fewest in the league. They allow just 88.6 rushing yards a game, ranking as the third-best run defense in the NFL. On the other hand, New York allows over 250 passing yards per game. Their secondary is susceptible to allowing big plays. New York will have to limit those if they want to beat the Packers at Lambeau Field.

Three Stars
- Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers has been Green Bay’s most valuable player this season. He also has a very good case to be the NFL MVP. With his numbers, that’s understandable. All but seven of Green Bay’s offensive touchdowns this season have been scored by someone other than Rodgers. He should have a big day at home against a questionable Giants secondary.
- Eli Manning: There’s something about January that wakes Manning up. Some of his best moments in his career have come in the postseason. He will have to be on the top of his game to beat Green Bay.
- Jordy Nelson: Nelson has been phenomenal of late. He is Rodgers’ favorite target and it’s quite easy to see why.
