When will the Golden Globes award show be in 2018?

With the 2017 Golden Globes officially underway, many people are likely wondering when the award show will be in 2018. It is, after all, one of the biggest nights in entertainment. Television and film fans alike can’t wait for the award show.

While a date has not been officially set yet, the projected date is likely either Sunday, Jan. 7 or Sunday, Jan. 14 in 2018. Traditionally, the award show is held on either the first or second weekend of the year. This year is a bit special since the first Sunday of 2017 happened to be New Year’s Day. Whether or not they will go back to it being on the first Sunday in 2018 has yet to be seen. What is known is the first Sunday of 2018 will fall on Jan. 7 and that the second will fall on Jan. 14.

Another thing that is known is where it will be held. It is always held in Hollywood at The Beverly Hilton. The start time is not official since the date isn’t. However, it will most likely begin at 8:00 p.m. ET with the red carpet coverage likely starting at either 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.

One thing that isn’t known is who will host the award show in 2018. Depending on how Jimmy Fallon does as the host, he might be back next year. Considering the show is aired on NBC and he is their premier talent, one can safely assume he’ll be back in 2018. But it certainly isn’t set in stone. However, whether you like or hate Fallon, one can’t deny he gets ratings, which is important.
