For his first career touchdown reception, New York Giants Tavarres King comes through in the clutch for 41 yards to bring New York within one point.
The New York Giants gave up a humiliating Hail Mary touchdown pass from Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb to close out the first half 14-6. None of the New York Giants wideouts who hung out on the boat with Trey Songz got into the end zone in the first half for New York.
Needing a big play, Giants quarterback Eli Manning is able to find Tavarres King to bring the Giants within a point. This marvelous 41-yard touchdown reception was the first of King’s NFL career.
Eli goes DEEP.

King beats his man.
You know how this ends... TOUCHDOWN @GIANTS! #GiantsPride #NFLPlayoffs https://t.co/OYGXVwzuse
King had previously been a huge part of the Georgia Bulldogs passing game while in college. He had a great senior year for Georgia with Aaron Murray slinging him the pigskin. However since entering the NFL in 2013, King has struggled to get on the field.
New York is the fifth team that King has been on since he was a fifth round draft pick by the Denver Broncos. He has been with the Giants since last season, spending most of the year on New York’s practice squad.
When he was made active for this game, some wondered what sort of impact King would have in the Giants passing game. The result is reminiscent to the type of over-the-top plays he did so well in the SEC a few years back.

The Robbie Gould PAT would bring the Giants within one point, down 14-13. Unfortunately, the Packers would respond on their next drive to make it 21-13. Rodgers was able to find Cobb a second time. Maybe King’s touchdown ignites the other Giants wideouts in the second half? What a play.
