Singer Trey Songz throws serious shade at the New York Giants defensive backs for giving up that Aaron Rodgers Hail Marry touchdown pass to Randall Cobb.

Heading into the New York Giants’ road NFC Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers, there was a bit of controversy surrounding the Giants wide receiving corps. Wideouts Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard, and Victor Cruz decided to hang out in Miami the week before a win-or-go-home playoff game with singer/songwriter Trey Songz.

The photo-op featuring Songz and the Giants wide receiver trio hanging out on a boat shirtless and wearing boots took the internet by storm earlier in the week. Giants quarterback Eli Manning doused the flames from this potential controversy, not really making a big deal out of it.

With all eyes on the Giants because of this photo-op, Songz quickly pointed out that none of the New York defensive backs were on that boat. Those defensive backs were the ones that gave up the Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb Hail Mary at the end of the first half. Shots were fired by Songz.

Songz has a point. Somebody in the Giants secondary didn’t do their job on that failed pass breakup. They knew that another potential Rodgers Hail Mary was coming. Getting beat over the top by Cobb was especially soul-crushing for the Giants heading to the half.

Beckham, Shepard, and Crus didn’t get into the end zone for the Giants in the first half. That didn’t help the Giants on the road in Lambeau. However, they might be off the hook thanks to this gaffe by the Giants secondary. Wide receivers get to go on boats in Miami. Defensive backs give up big, humiliating touchdowns to the Packers on national television.
